Former deputy to the immediate past Governor,of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu and the former’s aides in that administration on Friday commended Governor Seriake Dickson for bringing vast infrastructural development and improved security of lives and property to the state.
Seibarugu and over 80 former aides in the Sylva administration said two years of the Dickson administration have seen the state massively transform in the areas of security, education, infrastructure and tourism, among other sectors..
The former officials handed the verdict under the aegis of the Ex-Bayelsa Government Officials Forum (EBGOF),
In a communique issued at the end of its meeting in Yenagoa
the forum expressed satisfaction with “the giant strides achieved by the present administration of Governor Seriake Dickson.”
Noted the group, “We note especially, ongoing massive infrastructural development and the peaceful environment which is conducive for business and social activities.”
Endorsed by the Coordinator Chief Nathan Egba-Ologo, his deputy, Hon. Kesiye Frank-Oputu, secretary, Prince Micheal Amaegberi, and Head of Mobilisation, Chief Ben Eyororokumoh, the forum said it resolved to support the Dickson administration in view of his efforts to transform the state.
“In view of the foregoing, members of the forum have resolved to support and encourage Governor Dickson and his restoration agenda towards achieving more for the state,” declared the forum.
The group expressed gratitude for a recent reception for them by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the wake of their declaration of support for the party and President Goodluck Jonathan.
The forum commended Governor Dickson for his large heart and accommodating spirit, and welcomed his plea that returnee PDP members in the group be accorded the same rights and privileges as every other party member.
The former aides however protested their continued listing by the media as “decampees of the All Progressive Congress(APC),” stressing that they were never part of APC.
“It should be known, particularly by the media, that we never left PDP since we left office. Therefore, any reference to members of the group as decampee is erroneous,” the group declared.
