Uncertainty as Osun PDP holds parallel governorship primaries

by Our Reporter
There’s a great level of uncertainty in the rank of the Osun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party as two factions are set to conduct parallel governorship primaries.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that the two factions of the party in the State have made arrangements for parallel primaries ahead of the party officials.

While the Sunday Bisi caucus gathered at the Osogbo township stadium, the Wale Ojo-led faction met at WOCDIF Center for the exercise.

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Douye Diri is expected to lead the committee that will oversee the exercise but he has not been seen at any of the venues as at 11:45am but some national officers were however present at the stadium.

A source, who craved anonymity told Pointblanknews.com that Governor Diri is unlikely to come, stating that his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ehrujakpo will oversee the exercise on behalf of his Principal.

The race is between former Osun West Senator, Ademola Adeleke and Millionaire business mogul, Prince Dotun Babayemi.

The Elders Caucus of the PDP on Monday evening endorse Babayemi after four others have withdrawn from the race.
