by Our Reporter
Dangote Cement Plc says it has produced 398 millionaires, spread across

different states of the nation, in its ongoing “Bag of Goodies Promo
Season 2’’.

The company made the disclosure in a statement signed on Monday  by Mr
Anthony Chiejina, Group Head, Corporate Communications, Dangote
Industries Limited.

The Promo, which started on  July 15, 2020, requires Dangote Cement
Customers to retrieve scratch cards embedded with alphabets.

The alphabets, when put together, should spell Dangote and it qualified
such customer to be a millionaire.

The company’s aim is to give out one billion Naira to 1,000 customers.

According to the statement, Mrs Funmi Sanni, Marketing Director, Dangote
Industries Ltd., said the aim of the promotion was to reward loyal
customers by helping them recover more quickly from the effects of the
COVID-19 pandemic.

“The intention of this promo is to improve the lives of our consumers
and customers because they are our backbone and we recognise that.

“So, to appreciate that fact, we packaged this promo in order for us to
reach out to them in our own way.

“We understand the fact that our production process would not be
complete without the consumers.

“If they are not there to pick up the product no matter how good the
products are, we will not continue to be in business.

“Our customers are the people that are keeping us in business and we are
rewarding them for their loyalty and saying that they can do more.

“We are making 1000 people millionaires and you can imagine how many
other people these lucky ones will impact,’’ she is quoted to have said.

“We have advised the new millionaires earlier that as they receive their
alerts today, the money is meant to impact their lives and not to be
wasted on parties.

“The money is meant for them to grow themselves, so that by next year
when we are coming back here, we will hear testimonies from persons who
got one million naira and has made five million naira out of it.

“We have introduced them to our distributors so that perhaps, if they
are not yet in the cement business, they can start small as retailers
and before you know it, they are big and employers of labour,” she said.

According to the statement, Mr Agoda Bright, a bricklayer in Sapele,
Delta, who received his N1m bank alert at the venue of the event,
expressed happiness to be among the winners and thanked Dangote for
making him a millionaire.

“God will bless Dangote for giving me this offer as I did not expect
this before but today the Lord has done it for me.

“Dangote cement has made me to be a millionaire today; I am a bricklayer
and while doing my work, I kept retrieving the scratch cards from the
cement bags and spelt Dangote with the card alphabets. That is how I
became a millionaire,” he said.

Also, Mr George Okoro, Regional Director, South-South Dangote Cement,
noted that the promo was to reward Nigerians for their continued
patronage over the years for using Dangote cement.

He added that the company remained committed to uplifting and raising
the living standards of Nigerians as well as their financial stability.

The Dangote regional director disclosed that apart from the one million
naira given to winners, the company was also ready to give out one
billion Naira to 1,000 customers.

He added that other prices to be won included refrigerators, tricycles,
recharge cards and televisions. (NAN)
