Anambra 35 year-old man stabs wife to death over infidelity

A 35 year-old  Kingsely Igwe of Nise community in Awka South Local
Government Area of Anambra state was has been arrested for stabbing his
31 year-old wife, Onyinye to death over allegation of infidelity.

The tragic incident took place at 16 Dueze Street Otigba in 3-3 Area of
Anambra State where they are residing.

It was gathered from their neighbours that the deceased had been having
marital differences with other partners which sometimes results in
fights in their home, with the neighbours always intervene by separating
them.

However, this particular fight that led to stabbing her to death with
knife by the husband started around 2am in the morning when neighbours
are deeply asleep.

The neighbours after discovering what happened, held the husband and
invited the vigilante operatives in the area that handed him over to the
police.

The deceased was taken to Apex hospital at 33 junction where she was
pronounced dead on arrival by the doctor due to multiple stab wounds all
over her body and she was deposited in the mortuary by the police while
the husband is still in their custody.

Anambra state police command Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna
Mohammed Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident.

He said, “On 4/3/2021 at about 4:am, Police operatives attached to 3-3
Police Station arrested one Kingsely Igwe
‘m’, aged 35years of Nise in Awka South LGA but resident at Dueze Street
Otigba in 3-3 Area of Anambra State.

He said the suspect allegedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be
ascertained and attacked his wife one Oyinye Obi ‘f’ aged 31 years with
a kitchen knife and inflicted multiple injuries all over her body.

According to him, police detectives visited the scene and rushed the
victim to Apex hospital for medical attention but was certified dead on
arrival by a medical doctor.

Mohammed said the corpse was  deposited at the hospital’s morgue for
autopsy while the knife used in perpetrating the act was also recovered
and registered as exhibit.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas has directed the
DPO to transfer the case to State CID, Awka, for discreet investigation
in order to unravel the actual cause of the incident.
