In a statement, after an emergency meeting to put finishing touches to their plans for the protest, its leader Commander Ekpo Ubog, said, the group would go on with the protest to demand their rights to be carried along in the programme.
He stressed that no amount of threat from certain quarters would deter or frustrate their plans.
They accused the interim administrator of PAP, Dr.Dennis Otuaro of romancing with those who wanted the programme to be wound up, even as they neglected those who fought for the continuation of the programme which everyone now enjoys.
He noted that beneficiaries of the eastern Zone who fought for sustaining the programme were left behind to their
fate.
“Therefore, we cannot continue to bear this inhuman treatment, in a programme that we wholeheartedly embraced and
gave all what we had” he said.
According to him, ex-agitators from the eastern Zone were demanding their legitimate rights for inclusion in the programme.
