by Our Reporter
The legal battle facing the speaker of Imo state House of Assembly,
Chiji Collins , on his emergence as the member representing Isiala Mbano
state constituency, seemed to have come to an end.

Pointblanknews.com learned on Friday in Owerri, that some of his
opponents who contested the Isiala Mbano state House of Assembly
election have withdrawn their cases at the tribunal.

The candidates  of the Action Alliance, AA, Joy Mbawuike and that of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chukwuka Agwunobi, were said to have made
their intention to withdraw the matter from tribunal.

Lawyers of Mbawuike and Agwunobi said that it was the decision of their
clients to withdraw the matter from the tribunal.

However, the speaker  commended Mbawuike and Agwunobi on their decision
to withdraw the matter from the tribunal.

Collins had decamped from the All Progressives Grand Alliance  APGA,  to
the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to become the speaker of the House of
Assembly.

The speaker was faced with series of legal battle which some said would
have ended his journey to the state Assembly.
