The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has urged Nigerians to embrace energy-efficient practices and report electricity-related crimes as part of efforts to improve power supply and strengthen national development.
In his Easter message made available to journalists on Sunday in Abuja, Adelabu said the season is a reminder of sacrifice, love, and renewal—values he linked to the country’s push for a stable energy sector.
“Let us also embrace energy-efficient practices to reduce strain on the grid,” the minister said in a statement signed by his media adviser, Bolaji Tunji.
He encouraged the public to support government reforms by reporting illegal activities such as energy theft and infrastructure vandalism.
“Collective resilience and patriotism are vital to overcoming national challenges,” he added, referencing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Reaffirming his commitment to improving the sector, Adelabu said the Ministry of Power is working to stabilize the national grid, expand electricity access, and attract investments.
“Recent reforms, such as the ongoing upgrade of transmission infrastructure and partnerships with renewable energy developers, are pivotal to achieving sustainable solutions,” he said.
Adelabu described Easter as a time of unity and compassion. He extended greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world.
He prayed for “a Nigeria where every home enjoys uninterrupted power, and every citizen thrives in an environment of peace and progress.”
