Chairman of the Abia state Task Force on Environment and Allied Matters, Capt Awa Udonsi Agwu (rtd) has vowed to continue to remove all illegal structures littering the roads and streets of Aba and Umuahia until the cities are completely bereft of all forms of obstructions.
Agwu who is also the Special Adviser to Gov. Theodore Orji reiterated the mandate of his team to ensure the roads and streets of the state are free from illegal structures, stressing that Abia cannot lag behind in the friendly environment campaign going in the country.
“Our mandate is to ensure that all forms of attachments, street trading and structures that obstruct free movement of people and vehicles are completely removed. We are not here to victimize anybody. Above all, we have been very civil in the performance of our duties,” he said.
The Special Adviser who expressed satisfaction on the progression of work at the Umule and Enyimba – Ariaria areas called on traders and residents of the city to support the ongoing efforts to sanitize all cities in the state and posited that the people would soon appreciate the efforts of the Gov.
