Okorocha Returns, Expresses Gratitude To Imolites

The Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their prayers and concern while he was away for medical treatment abroad.

Okorocha who said this while addressing journalists shortly after his arrival from the United Kingdom at the Government House Owerri, noted that he was involved in a minor auto accident that took him to abroad for proper medical treatment.

“I was involved in a motor accident which gave me a cut. In sustained a minor head injury and I had to travel out of the country after brief treatment at a private hospital at Orlu, to re-examine the position of the injury that I sustained, I want to tell that I am fine, healthy and I am grateful to God Almighty”.

Okorocha said he has forgiven the man, whose car ran into the convoy, stating that he would not be tried in law court. He announced a gift of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200, 000) to repair his Mercedes 200 that was damaged by the accident and 0used the opportunity to advise motorists to be careful while driving and avoid drinking of alcohol to avoid accident on the road.

The Governor also made a token of two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000) to the man he had the accident with, Hon. Chief Osita Patrick Nnewuihe from Oru East to enable him fix his car properly and to take care of himself.

The governor commended the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere and other members of the Executive Council for running the affairs of the state and further thanked Imo people who prayed for his quick recovery. In his speech, Nnewuihe thanked governor for his magnanimity and love for him and his family during the incident.

He further thanked God for saving their lives and prayed God to continue to protect Governor Okorocha and his family.
