The Joint Task Force (JTF) in northern Nigeria city of Kano has discovered illegal arms warehouse located on Gaya Road at the Bompai axis of the ancient city.
Four aliens from Middle-East were arrested in connection with the arms warehouse, while the owner of the building, a Lebanese is also being quizzed by security agencies.
When Pointblanknews.com visited the ware-house, military men were sighted guarding the building.
It is not clear whether the arms are being used for terrorist activities.
Spokesman of the military JTF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, said authorities of 3 Brigade will officially brief newsmen on the issue on Thursday, just as he declined further comment on the incident.
“You would get the details tomorrow [Thursday] because of the Democracy Day celebration we have decided to talk to you after the break,” he stated.
He further stated that as a result of the Democracy Day celebration, security was beefed- up in the commercial city of Kano with increased vehicular patrols by the JTF and the police as part of the measure to also sustained relative peace Kano residents have experience in about one month now.
The areas where the security were beefed up are those presence are identified flash point such as Kurna Asabe, where two persons were reportedly killed last Friday by unknown gunmen, Hotoro –Mariri, Yankaba and Badawa all suspected hide houses of gunmen.
