Timi Alaibe Heads Bayelsa Tourism Board Begins 15-hectare tourism island

Bayelsa State governor Hon. Seriake Dickson has approved the appointment of a former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDc), Chief Timi Alaibe chairman of the state tourism board.

 

Also appointed into the board were seven others, including Air Vice Marshall Atti Samuel (rtd), Chiefs Epraim Fallogi and Fred Nyananyo.

 

A statement by Dickson’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson said the new board would oversee the construction of the 15-hectare tourism island, among other projects designed to boost tourism in the state. –
The tourism island, said the statement, shall host a 6-star hotel, an 18 hole- Professional Golf Association (PGA) Golf course, World class Polo field, among other facilities.

 

Governor Dickson said his administration identified the tourism potentials of Bayelsa State, and shall tap all the inherent opportunities.

 

He commended the board, which also has Honourables Fyneman Wilson, Claudius Enegesi, Solomon Apreala, as well as Miss Bini Ayafa as members, as filled with persons of integrity.

 

Governor Dickson charged them to use “their wealth of experience to attract the much needed private sector participation as well as translate Government’s dream of developing a flourishing world class tourism facility to reality.”
