Army Kills 40 Terrorists , Foils Boko Haram Sallah Deadly Attack in Borno

In what would have turned out as black Sallah Holiday in Borno State, Soldiers killed about 40 suspected Boko Haram terrorist who were planing to carry out a massive attack during the Eid-El- Kabir celebration.

The 7 Division Nigeria Army in Borno state were able to attack 3  separate Boko Haram camps within Bama, Gwoza and Pulka towns , Borno State leaving several other terrorist with gun shot injuries

In a press statement made available today and signed by the Spokesman the 7th Division, Nigerian Army, Captain Aliyu Ibrahim Danja , Soldiers foiled terrorists attempt at a simultaneous attacks on Bama, Gwoza and Pulka towns in Borno state night of Sunday 13 October 2013.

“Troops of 7 Division Nigeria Army has foiled yet another attack by Boko Haram Terrorists aimed at inflicting havoc on Borno state prior to Sallah festivities. The terrorists whom are of unknown strength attempted coordinated simultaneous attacks on Bama, Gwoza and Pulka towns in Borno state night of Sunday 13 October 2013.

” Soldiers of 7 Division in anticipation however, successfully repelled all the attacks killing 40 Terrorists in the 3 locations while several others escaped with gunshot wounds”.

The spokesman said Soldiers also destroyed a pickup vehicle loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) meant for destruction of Bama town during the encounter.

In a related coordinated attack by the Nigerian Air force in collaboration with ground troops according to Captine Danja , Boko haram elements and their assets were successfully neutralized at Kilani general area of the
state.

“The Eid-El Kabir prayers were conducted safely by the Muslim faithful in Borno state amidst tight security provided by the Division. The General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen Obidah Tahau Ethan in his felicitation urged Muslim faithful within Borno state to continue to pray for peaceful coexistence in Borno state and the country at large.”
