Kano state Governor, Engr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has said that justice in the polity is the only solution to the present socio-economic predicament in the country.
He further stressed that it is very important to every section of the country to be carried along to save it from imminent collapse.
Receiving the Bishops and Eminent Clerics Forum of Nigeria, under the leadership of his Eminence, Jones Ode Erue, at Government House, Kano, on Sunday, Governor Kwankwaso maintained that uneven stake in the scheme of things among Nigerians, is threatening the corporate existence of the country.
Governor Kwankwaso described unity and peaceful coexistence as the most effective ways to ensure socio-economic development of any country, pointing out that no any nation that can develop in an atmosphere of rancor and mistrust.
“When I was told that your eminent is coming with this powerful delegation I was pleasantly surprised that in this country we still have leaders who have courage and determination to preach peace, stability and progress of this country even under these very difficult circumstances”, the governor stated.
“I believe this particular action will go a long way in bringing peace and stability in our dear nation”, said the governor, adding that Nigerians, irrespective of religious, political or tribal inclinations have a major role to play in promoting peace and national stability.
“We must therefore rise and ensure that justice is done to every section of this country. The key word is justice, justice is very important, without justice no leader either in the country or in the state or even in a house can led effectively”, Kwankwaso stressed.
He therefore assured the visiting clerics that his administration will work with them and all well-meaning Nigerians from across the country to ensure that Nigerians get justice and fair play at all levels, to move the nation to the next level of progress.
On his part, the leader of the delegation, His Eminence, Jones Ode Erue said they are in Kano to consult governor Kwankwaso and people of the state on the doctrine of peace and national unity, stressing that their movement “is not a PDP/G7 project but a Nigerian project that deserves the input of every sector”.
This move, he stated, should be seen as the greatest in the nation’s history, adding that collectively, the citizenry seeks an end to “injustice, intolerance, impunity, insecurity and leadership crisis”.
