The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF, Governor Jonah Jang of
Plateau state yesterday described Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa state as
being politically mature for deciding to remain in the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP.
Lamido and his Niger state counterpart, Dr. Babangida Aliu yesterday
reaffirmed
their membership of PDP as some members of the breakaway new PDP merged
with the
All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to a statement signed by Kassim Yakubu and released in Abuja by
the NGF
media office, Governor Jang said Governor Lamido has exhibited wisdom,
maturity and
unimpeachable judgement in deciding that he will remain in the party to
iron out his
differences with the party leadership.
“My colleague Governor SuleLamido has rightly observed that you cannot
jump from party to party at the slightest hint of a disagreement and I am
glad he recognises that as a founding member of the party he cannot
abandon the house he has helped to build. This is the
kind of political maturity that we wish all politicians in our great
nation should emulate”
Jang added.
He called on the Jigawa state governor to join him in the Nigeria
Governors Forum under his leadership to work for the good of the people of
Nigeria now that it is clear that a different NGF exist solely as an
opposition party to the PDP led federal government.
