President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has described former South African freedom fighter and President Nelson Mandela as one of the greatest African that ever lived.
Reacting to the demise of foremost apartheid fighter in Abuja today, Senator Mark said Mandela was a selfless leader who devoted his entire life to the emancipation of his people and by extension African people.
Senator Mark therefore wants African leaders and followers to emulate the exemplary legacies of Mandela which he said would outlive generations.
” It is my wish and hope that African people would emulate and sustain his legacies of forthrightness, commitment, honesty and uncommon selfless service to humanity.”he added.
The President of the Senate noted that Mandela lived for African people to get freedom, pointing out that ” his death is painful , but we cannot question the will of God”.
The life and times of Mandela, he stressed, “is a lesson to all the living to wit; that doing good and living for others
is worth the trouble”
