JTF Storms Boko Haram Hideout in Maiduguri, Kills 20

20 suspected,Boko Haram members and one Soldier were killed  on Saturday night when security forces had a gun battle with some members of the islamic zealots  in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Field Operations officer of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno State Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who confirmed the incident on phone today from Maiduguri, said  that one soldier was killed while two others sustained bullet wounds during a raid on the Boko Haram hide out.

According to the JTF spokesman, the task force received intelligence reports about members holding nocturnal meetings in a location within the metropolis.

After casing the location, the task force stormed the location where a gun battle ensued.

” We got intelligence report that some suspected Boko Haram terrorist were having a  meeting at a particular location in the metropolis, while we approach  venue of their meeting point the terrorist opened fire on the JTF which led to the killing of 20 of the terrorists while we lost one soldier and two others sustained injury.” Ebhaleme said.
