The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has stated
for the umpteen times that there is no going back on the resolve to throw
its primaries open to all qualified member aspirants and ethnic groups in
the State.
This, the party notes, is necessitated by its strong desire to reclaim all
the political offices stolen from the party and must therefore field only
tested, trusted and capable candidates that can stand any opponent from
any party anytime.
Advising critics and those opposed to the party’s decision to look
elsewhere for work as the decision is irreversible, the State Chairman of
the party, Bro Felix Obuah through a statement signed by his Special
Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam said he is not intimidated by such baseless
criticisms, calling them wishes of those who do not mean well for the PDP.
According to the party chairman, no other system could be more democratic
and a better way of choosing popular candidates for the crucial 2015
elections than giving all ethnic nationalities the opportunity to bring
out their best candidates for the respective offices so that only the best
of the best and popular will be elected during the primaries to prosecute
the 2015 elections.
“May I also use this opportunity to enjoin my faithful party members not
to be deceived by such antics of our opponents and enemies and remain
steadfast to party policies and resolutions to the disgrace of our
critics,” the PDP chair stressed.
