Immediate past Governor of Bauchi State, Mal Isa Yuguda has refuted
insinuations that 22 SUV cars were retrieved from his wives as widely
publicized in various media organizations declaring that most of the said
vehicles were grounded and retrieved from the mechanics and towed to the
Government House and not from the houses of his wives..
Isa Yuguda while reacting to the story credited to the Committee set up by
the Mohammed Abubakar led APC Government explained that the vehicles were
not officially allocated to his wives but used as utility vehicles at the
pool of the Government House since he was elected as Governor in 2007
explaining that the vehicles have so been used since then.
The former Governor who spoke through his media team said that there was
no iota of truth in the claim by the Committee that the vehicles were
retrieved from any of his wives saying, “having left on May 29, 2015 I
personally directed that all the vehicles be accounted for and returned to
the Government House where they belong to and that was exactly what was
done”.
He added that most of the vehicles were retrieved from the various
mechanical workshops where they were taken for repairs at the instance of
the state government through the Government House. I challenge anyone with
prove that all the vehicles were forcefully retrieved from any of my wives
to come out with such proof and show the entire world to see.”
He said that what is been done is a calculated attempt to smear his image
and rubbish the good name of his family warning that hence forth he will
not take any such further attempt to malign the reputation of his family
in the name of vendetta advising all agents o f the present administration
to tread with caution in order to overheat the peaceful atmosphere in the
state.
Isa Yuguda then called on the Governor, Mohammed Abubakar to call his
agents to order by ensuring that it is only the fact that they dish out
the general public assuring that he and his family remain part and parcel
of Bauchi state and will continue to respect the government having
completed his mandate of 8 years successfully without blemish.
