by Our Reporter

The recruitment of qualified applicants for the Akwa Ibom Electric Metering
Company has commenced with a written interview conducted for over 1500
applicants, including a nursing mother, at the CBN Hall of the University
of Uyo Town Campus.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due
Process Engr. Ufot Ebong said the test is the first step towards
shortlisting applicants for an oral interview before they are finally sent
abroad for specialized training abroad.
The governor’s aide particularly acknowledged a nursing mother who came for
the interview with her 6 months old baby, and commended her for effectively
keying into the dakkada philosophy of the Governor instead of depending on
being spoon fed.
Engr. Ebong restated Governor Emmanuel’s resolve that only the best among
the applicants should be considered through a fair and transparent process.
Over 1500 applicants took part in the interview test which was divided into
three sessions. This excludes the janitorial services who will be contacted
subsequently.

Commenting on the test, an applicant Mr Michael Udokim said he got an sms
and email notification on the interview about six days ago, adding that the
examination was well coordinated.
He was pleased that everyone who came for the interview including those who
where not shortlisted were all allowed to take part in the interview test
and commended Governor Emmanuel keeping his promise of opening up job
opportunities for the teaming populace.
