The Boko Haram Islamic militant group today in Maiduguri during a telephone interview said it has no hand in the killing of a retired army general, Gen Mamman Shuwa last Friday.
Gen. Shuwa was killed by unidentified gunmen in his house c at Gwange 1 ward of Maiduguri last Friday.
“We have no hands in the killing of Gen Shuwa last Friday. We don’t know anything about it. We were surprised when we heard about it. We didn’t have problem with the man and we are not responsible at all,” Mohammed Ibn Abdulaziz one of the commanders who has been speaking for the sect in recent time said.
He also maintained the sect was not responsible for the killing of an associate of the former governor, Alhaji Mustapha Flawama recent.
