Sen. Ekweremadu kinsmen condemns IPOB attack in Germany on their won

kinsmen of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, under the aegis of Enugu West
People’s Parliament have demanded a thorough investigation, arrest and
prosecution of those who planned and carried out the attack on Sen. Ike
Ekweremadu in Germany.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Awka on Tuesday, they also
requested an explanation by the organizers of the Iri-ji celebration in
Nuremberg and why they failed to provide security for the Senator.

The statement which was jointly signed by the National Secretary Hon.
Cletus Akalusi, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele, National Publicity Secretary and
Okey Ozoani, Organizing Secretary condemned the attack describing it as
a sacrilege which must not be swept under the carpet.

While describing the attack as sacrilegious the kinsmen described the
IPOB members involved in the act as cowards.

They condemned the act as well as the threats by the outlawed group to
attack South East governors and other Igbo leaders.

They urged the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Nigerian Embassy in
Germany and the Nigerian Diaspora Commission to rise to the occasion to
ensure that culprits are brought to book.

They urged other Igbo diaspora organizations to note the threats of the
IPOB miscreants masquerading as those fighting Igbo agenda and ensure
that adequate security is provided in all genuine Igbo activities
abroad.

“We urge the current Igbo leaders currently occupying various political
and cultural positions not to be distracted by the IPOB threats in their
passionate efforts to serve the Igbo nation.

“Let’s place it on record that the Senator has done so much for his
constituents, the Igbo nation, Nigeria and the West Africa sub region.

“Within his constituency and the South East of Nigeria, Ekweremadu has
demonstrated quality representation by attracting numerous
infrastructure including roads, bridges, water projects, dams,
electricity etc.,” They  affirmed.
