My Rising Profile, Rattling Political Desperados – Gov Ayade

by Our Reporter
The Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade has said that his rising political profile is, in part, responsible “laughable and ludicrous” reports against him by persons he termed desperados.

Governor Ayade was reacting to a media reports accusing him of using state resources to enrich himself running into billions of Naira.

But in a statement by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Linus Obogo, Ayade said purvayors of these stories will fail in their bid to rubbish his character.

The governor sited the recent visit of some northern governors to his state as the reason for the untoward attack on his person and government.

“The recent visit by some Northern governors to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has obviously rattled some political desperados, hence the laughable and ludicrous reports now popping up in both traditional and some unethical online platforms against the governor.

“However these purveyors of lies try, the more they will fail in their doomed and damned effort at impeaching the character of the governor that is without blemish.

“They are obviously scared stiff and rattled by Ayade’s rising political profile.

“Their latest attempt to tar the governor is not only ludicrous but idiotic, thus meriting no response.

“Given the dire financial standing of the state, with the least allocation from the federation account, if N100 billion is taken away from the coffers of the state, Cross River will simply disappear. Reason? Cross River has no such money.” The statement said.
