According to incontrovertible sources, Okorinama West (Aka) Shaggy, Dennis Teneilabe, Jeremiah Godwill, Temple Amachree and Batubo (Aka) Oriji are currently under investigation for their culpability in the henious crime that has endangered lives in the state in recent times.
Pointblanknews.com recalls that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike had recently declared war on operators of illegal refineries in the state, saying the government had resolved to tackle the soot by closing down all identified illegal crude oil refining sites in the state.
In January of 2022, Gov Wike had earlier declared 19 persons wanted for allegedly operating illegal crude oil refining sites responsible for the black soot in the state.
The governor further directed the Rivers State Head of Service to query a director in the Ministry of Energy, Mr Temple Amakiri, and hand him over to the police for investigation and possible prosecution for allegedly abetting bunkering activities.
