Speaking via a campaign message produced by Campaign Image Coordination (CIC), Alh Atiku debunked the insinuation that his candidacy will stop young people from seeking the office adding that they were already in the race anyway.
“I have not stopped anybody from running. In any case, there are so many of them running. So why do you want to bring in discrimination because of my age? If I feel I have the strength, health and capacity to do it, why should it be an issue?
“When I had the opportunity to serve in government, I brought in more younger people” Atiku said.
The campaign message further described Alh Atiku as the nation’s version of former American President, Abraham Lincoln.
The message sited the former Vice President’s detribalised nature much like Lincoln, as a tonic needed to bridge the widening gap between the various regions of the country especially at a period where ethnic and religious sentiments reign.
It also called on the electorate to give Alh Atiku the mandate in 2023 if the nation’s fortunes must be turned around for good.
