We ‘ll dump APC if Justice is not done -Aliero

by Our Reporter
A former governor of Kebbi state and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Adamu Aliero has threatened that major stakeholders of the party in the state may join another party if Justice is not done.
“After building APC, we have no course to dump it, unless of course if Justice is not done to our supporters or the major stakeholders” he said.

According to Aliero the defection of a member of House of Representatives, Hon. Bello Yakubu to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not unconnected with crisis in the party.

“Right now one of the legislators in the House of Representatives, Honourable Bello Yakubu has decamped to PDP” he said.

Senator Aliero spoke on Tuesday in Abuja when he was conferred with award, as the patron of the National Assembly Progressive Legislative Aides (NAPLAIDES) forum.

The former governor though said he had no intention to move to another party, however acknowledged that there are disagreements in Kebbi APC.
“Yes, there are some disagreement in the party, and disagreement is normal, the party is doing its very best to reconcile us, and we have given chance to the party to do that. And we are hoping that before we do the primary election, there will be genuine reconcilation.

“The governors of north west have stepped into this disagreement, we had two meetings with them and other leaders in the north west geo-political zone. They have equally intervened to see that we reconcile. Not only that the national chairman who was recently inaugurated had a meeting with us and gave us assurance that he will do his best to ensure that we have peace in Kebbi.

“Luckily for us, he happens to be the chairman of national reconcilation committtee and he visited Kebbi and the feuding sides had a meeting with the committtee headed by the present chairman of APC; and we had another meeting with him in his house.
“He submitted a report and I hope that report will be a working document for him to achieve genuine reconcilation in the APC.

Earlier, chairman of NAPLAIDES, Prince Oyelude Oladele said the award to senator Aliero followed his activities as far as the northwest is concerned.

“Your antecedents are the major reason why we considered you to be our patron in this group.
“And by doing that, I think by this moment, the media can attest to it that the insinuation that have been circulating that, you have moved out of the progressive fold, I think this will clear the insinuation, that you are on ground for the progressive party”.
Oladele said NAPLAIDES is group organized for the projection of Progressive Senators and Reps in the National Assembly.

“We have been on ground quite long, projecting the activities of Senators and Reps that are progressive in the National Assembly.

“This is the biggest pressure group as far as National Assembly is concerned” he added.
