Buhari Shuns APC Lawmakers, Refuses To Attend Planned Meeting

President Mohammadu Buhari refused to meet with Senators-Elect of the All
Progressive Congress, APC, at the International Conference Center, Abuja
to resolve its leadership selection controversies, pointlanknews.com has
been informed.

The President who returned from Germany after the G7 meeting was expected
to chair a meeting with the APC Senators to resolve the controversies over
who emerges as Senate President.

He however did not show up. About 50 Senators who had seated in
anticipation of President Buhari’s arrival to address them only waited in
vain.

However, while they waited for the President, they were informed that 57
Senators who were at the Senate Chambers have already elected Senator
Bukola Saraki and Senator Ike Ekweremadu as Senate President and Deputy
Senate President.

Before some of them could rush back to the chambers, sources told
pointblanknews.com that the clerk of the House had already sworn-in the
two leaders.

No official words yet from the National leadership of the APC. But a
sources told Pointblanknews.com that what played out in the Senate today
has deeply shocked not just the leadership of the Party but the President
himself.

The source stated that the decision in the Senate has dismantled the
arrangement the APC has struggled to put together.

“I can tell you that the whole leadership of the APC is in shock now. What
happened in the Senate today has scattered all we have labored for weeks
to manage. It is a bad one for us. The President is equally shocked.
Hopefully, we can manage the situation,” the source who would not want to
be named told Pointblanknews.com.
