Ikimi Dumps APC, Set to Declare for PDP

A former minister of foreign affairs and chieftain of All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Chief Tom Ikimi has quit the party.

 

“I have made the decision to withdraw my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) from today,  27th August 2014”, Ikimi said in a statement released Tuesday.

 

Ikimi had sought to contest the APC national chairmanship, but was blocked by certain powerful forces who ensured that he didn’t get to contest.

 

Pointblanknews.com gathered that the flamboyant politician would declare for PDP “any moment.”

A former governor of Edo State, Chief John Oyegun emerged the APC national chairman.

 

Last weekend, Edo State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Dan Orbih had at a rally in Ikimi’s hometown, Igueben, appealed to the politician to join his party.
