In a leaked Audio, former Governor of Rivers State and now Transport
Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, said his successor, Governor Nyesom Wike,
accused him of placing “juju” inside the $50million Bombardier Jet he
acquired for the state in 2012.
Amaechi said he was shocked when some Americans who changed the Jet’s
engine told him they had to change the engine again because Wike said it
has juju on it.
Amaechi had acquired a brand-new Bombardier Global 5000 (N565RS) for his
use as Governor.
“When Goodluck impounded the Rivers state plane, it was brand new. When
they impounded it when they released it one year after, we had to fly it
for a new engine in Florida. In fact, I praise the pilot to have the
courage to fly…the engine that was rusted and bad, he could manage it
and flew it to Florida where they now changed the engine. When Wike
became Governor, he took it back there that they should remove
everything there that they must have put juju (voodoo) …laughter…when
the American was telling me I was laughing, he said what is juju,
Amaechi said in the leaked audio
Wike fired back, saying, it is all a lie, as nothing like that happened.
He said Amaechi should go and face his many challenges and leave him out
of it.
“It’s all a lie. Nothing like that happened. Amaechi should go and face
his problems. I am not his problems, Wike told pointblanknews.com
The Aircraft was delivered to the Rivers state government on October
7th, 2012.
The jet was primarily purchased from Bombardier in Canada for $45.7
million through the Bank of Utah Trustee account.
President Goodluck Jonathan had allegedly impounded the Jet for almost a
year.
