Senate May suspend Senator Ovie Omo-Agege indefinitely following invasion
of the Senate by thugs who snatched and took away the Mace to an unknown
destination.
The embattled Senator is alleged to have masterminded the invasion of the
Senate following his suspension for 90days by the Senate.
“Few minutes after Senator Omo-Agege walked into the Senate, the guys
numbering almost ten invaded the chambers and forcefully removed the
Mace,” a source who does not want to be named told Pointblanknews.com.
According to the source, “they took the Mace into a waiting car and zoomed
off.
On April 15 2018, Senator Omo-Agege through his Twitter handle
@OvieOmo-Agege had requested for a telephone number of a one @amenahuruemu
who ad threatened the Senate over the suspension of the Delta Central
Senator.
@amenahuruemu had tweeted “We will take our protest to every known place
to demand that our constituency must not be denied a representation. We
are Delta Central a d @OvieOmoAgege Obarisi is our senator. We voted him
and we demand he be allowed to do the job we sent him to do. @bukolasaraki
don’t try us.
Senator Omo-Agege had responded through @ovieOmo-Agege, “Hi Uruemu!!
Please Send me your mobile number. Regards.”
Pointblanknews.com could not confirm if there was indeed an exchange of
numbers or if that had led to the plan to invade and take away the Mace
belonging to the Senate.
However, a Senator who spoke to pointblanknews.com on condition of
anonymity said Senator Omo-Agege might be suspended indefinitely. He said
The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekwerenmadu would speak with
Senate President Bukola Saraki who is currently attending an official
event in Washington DC to determine the next line of action.
“Senator Omo-Agege is heading to an indefinite suspension, that I can
guarantee you. This is a coup against the Senate and we would not take it
lightly. The DSP would speak to the Senate President soon and we will make
a firm decision,” the Senator told Pointblanknews.com
However, there is heightened security at the National Assembly and the
Senate has gone into a closed-door session.
