Only AD Can Redeem Ondo – Oke, Receives Thousands of PDP, APC Supporters

Thousands of members from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and
the All Progressives Congress (ACP) on Tuesday in Irelel Local Government
area of Ondo Stated decamped into the Alliance for Democracy (AD) during
the campaign tour of the Council by the governorship candidate of the
Party in the State, Chief Olusola Oke.

Receiving the ecstatic new members into the fold of the party, Chief Oke
assured the people that only the AD can liberate the state from the
bondage which it has been subjected to .According to him, the
“indebtedness, neglect, deprivation, starvation, regression and poverty”
which had become the lot of the state under the present administration had
compelled people to yearn for real change which he assured that only the
AD could provide through winning the November 26 governorship election.

The AD candidate, who spoke yesterday at Ode Irele, Ajagba, Akotogbo and
Iju Osun during his campaign tour of Irele Council said “as things are,
only AD can redeem Ondo State. AD is the only hope of the people of the
state and it is showing from the massive supports we have been receiving
in the short time”.

Oke, who bemoned the hardship, neglect and abandonment which people had
suffered under the present ruling party in the state, said the electorate
had the responsibility to produce the desired “real change,” by voting for
AD which represented development.

While responding to the development requests of the people of the council
area, Oke, who said roads generally in the state needed attention from
their present parlous state, assured of completion of the long abandoned
Irele-Ayeka/Okitipupa Road linking four council areas in the senatorial
district.

Work began on the Irele-Ayeka/Okitipupa Road during the Dr Olusegun Agagu
administration but abandoned by the present government in the state which
had continuously played politics with this all important road. He also
promised to construct township roads in communities in the council area
and as well Ajagba-Akotogbo-Ijuosun and
Irele-Lutako-Logbosere-Lobi-Atoranse roads.

The AD candidate, who stressed the role of hygienic water in good health,
assured that the Irele Waterwork would be restored just as the Irele
General Hospital would be upgraded to attend to the needs of the emerging
population.

The governorship hopeful, who said the AD government would boost
agriculture through provision of inputs and implements at subsidized rates
and as well woman and youth empowerment, also promised social amenities
including restoration and extension of electricity to the entire council
area, siting of health centres in towns and villages.

According to him, the party will restore the lost glory of the state
through equitable distribution of wealth, resources and projects, assuring
the people of Ondo South Senatorial District of new lease of life.

The Olofun of Ode-Irele, Oba Olanrewaju Lebi, had while playing host to
the AD candidate in his palace, appealed to politicians to shun violence
and acts of hooliganism.

Oba Lebi appealed to Oke, when elected, to consider completion of the
Irele-Ayeka/Okitipupa Road began by Agagu in the interest of people of the
South Senatorial District.

The monarch also urged the candidate to take up the issue of Olokola also
begun by former Governor Agagu at appropriate quarters so that Ondo State
could benefit from it.
