Akala Has No Plan To Join Accord, Olaosebikan

by Our Reporter

The immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala has no intention whatsoever of dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join Accord or any other party, and  this is authoritative.

Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala as the mainstay of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state is at present full of activity, making solid efforts towards fortifying the party in the 33 local governments of the state in a strategic manner which are already yielding great results.

According to a close associate of Otunba Alao Akala and former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Agba akin Kehinde Olaosebikan, the former Governor was not in any way contemplating leaving the PDP for Accord or any other party, rather he was busy strengthening the party all over the state.

Oalosebikan in a chat with reporters in Ibadan Sunday, said: “I can say with all confidence that Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala is not leaving his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Accord or any other party.  The former governor is full of activity now with the reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party and putting measures in place to ensure that the vicious government of ACN is routed out of the state in 2015.

The former Chairman however confirmed the existence of a 10 member committee jointly put in place by the former governor of the state, Senator Rasheed Ladoja and Otunba Alao Akala, which he said will be inaugurated on Tuesday.

“It is true that a 10 member committee has been put in place to work out the modalities for what I call reconciliation, integration, and actualization of an unprecedented mass movement in the political life of Oyo state. The committee of five from both sides will be inaugurated publicly on Tuesday”

Olaosebikan toald journalists that it was untrue that Otunba Akala was displeased with the membership of a person on the committee saying the report by the Sunday Tribune was pure falsehood.

“Otunba Alao Akala never dictated on who to be appointed as members of the committee. Even on our side, PDP, the governor did not impose anybody. He only asked the elders of the party to choose those capable of doing the job. Why would somebody who never dictated who became members from his group now be deciding for the other party. You know that is not correct and the report was unfair to the former governor.

“ Senator Ladoja has competent and accessible media men, you can confirm from them. The person mentioned in the report was never nominated or suggested to be part of the committee.  We know that those behind the report just wanted to use it to create bad blood. They have failed. This re union will work and Oyo state will certainly be better for it”

Olaosebikan told journalists that the two former governors have fully agreed to work together in the interest of the teaming masses of the state in order to provide leadership that would put the interest of the common man
