Coup In Turkey: Count Us Out-UBA

by Our Reporter
UBA, one of Africa's foremost Banks said it has nothing to do with the
recent failed coup in Turkey.

The Bank, headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria dismissed as spurious, the
allegations linking the Bank with the funding of Soldiers who carried out
the failed Military take-over of Government in Turkey, a statement signed
by Charles Aigbe, Head of Communications of UBA, said Tuesday.

The statement reads:

"UBA is aware of the on-going and spurious media speculation linking our
institution to recent events in Turkey. In light of this we believe it is
necessary to categorically state that UBA has no involvement in or
connection to these accusations, which are clearly false.

"We remain focused and firmly committed to delivering on our strategy to
build Africa’s premier banking institution."
