Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi has been accused of working with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to destroy the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
The National Deputy Chairman (South) of APGA, Chief Chris Ejike Uche made the statement in a chat with newsmen in Owerri.
Uche said Obi has shown signs that he is a member of the PDP. You have a governor who is serving under the President as an Economic Adviser. Any activity the PDP does, he is there even wearing their uniform. What again do we say? He is a member of the PDP and he is being hired to destroy APGA, he alleged.
The APGA chieftain maintained that the party’s problem with Obi was that he wanted to install his successor on the party while the latter rejected the move.
He  stated that the reason the governor is working to destabilize the party was because the APGA leadership under Chief Victor Umeh insisted on the conduct of local government elections as to deepen democracy at the grassroots, but Obi refused and decided to fight Umeh.
“We asked him to conduct local government elections, he refused. Since six years, he has been running the councils with Transition Committees.
How can APGA get strong? The constitution provides for three tiers of government. As you are voted in, so is the man at the local government voted in
Uche further alleged that the PDP is strongly behind the problem rocking APGA. The PDP Is fighting hard to destabilize APGA because they know that the PDP is dying. They should leave APGA alone,†he added.
The Chieftain insisted that the crisis rocking APGA is only a phase which will soon pass away.
