Tinubu had accepted an invitation to meet with the United States President, Joe Biden, on the sideline of the 78th United Nations Generally Assembly (UNGA) which ended on Friday.
The meeting, PointblankNews.com gathered was cancelled after US security agencies alerted President Biden on the severity of the 2,500 page criminal files against Tinubu coupled with the controversy surrounding his academic records at the Chicago State University (CSU).
This medium gathered that President Biden was advised to shun his Nigeria’s counterpart owing to the moral burden burden he is shouldering as a result of his controversial past.
A source who does not want his name in print told this medium that “If he is not a President with diplomatic immunity, parading any fake or unapproved university document is against the law in America. Under American law, he would be denied entry or deported. I guess America didn’t want any controversy to emerge during the General Assembly.”
Meanwhile, certificates submitted by the Independent National Electoral Commission by Tinubu to vie for the February 25 presidential election are not the same with what CAU has on its file.
This development, according to findings is the sole reason he is doing everything possible to stop the release of his document to the public as demanded by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election.
Recall that the former Lagos State Governor on Friday during an emergency hearing conducted by Judge Nancy Maldonado, told the court that releasing his academic records would have severe damage to him.
A CSU lawyer had recently said the school cannot confirm the certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC.
The Supreme Court, the highest in the land is expected to determine the case on merit after the Presidential Election Petition Court, three weeks ago, affirmed the election of Tinubu; a judgment that elicited national and international condemnation.
