The Joint Task Force (JTF) Operating in Yobe state said it killed four suspected Boko Haram members during a gun battle last night killed in Geidam town 180 kilometres away from Damaturu , the state Capital .
Spokesman of the Joint Task Force JTF in Yobe state, Lieutenant Eli Lazarus confirmed the incident in an e-mail statement sent to reporters in Damaturu today.
“the incident occurred yesterday around 5 PM when suspected terrorists attacked JTF location in Geidam town. The attack was repelled by the JTF and four of the gunmen lost their lives in the exchange gun fire.”

Lazarus revealed that” three AK47 rifles, five rifles magazines and seventy two rounds of 7.62 mm ammunitions were recovered from the insurgents.”
The spokesman also assured all law abiding and peace loving people of the state of its unflinching commitment to the full restoration of peace and security and the maintenance of law and order in the state.
