The minor who blocked the convoy of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign train during the 2023 general election has been assured that his dream of going back to school to any level will be realized.
This is as friends and well wishers have raised adequate funds for the relocation of the family.
Obi who paid a visit to the family after he was discharged by a magistrate court on Friday in Lagos, pledged to take over the burden of training Quadri to whatever level of education he aspires to reach.
According to tweets in his verified X handle on Friday, Obi said, “I listened to Quadri today, and one thing stood out clearly: his unwavering desire for education. Despite all he has been through, his only dream is to return to school and complete his education and I will make sure he gets it.
“His determination is not just inspiring; it is a call to action, and I am committed to ensuring that he gets the education he desires and deserves.”
The former Governor of Anambra State vowed to ensure that those behind Quadri’s ordeal are brought to book.
“In addition, we must not stop at his release. Those responsible for his illegal incarceration must be held accountable. As we strive to build a Nigeria where fairness and integrity prevail, we cannot afford to allow such acts of criminality to go unpunished”.
He thanked the legal team led by Inibehe Effiong, Dele Farotimi, Ms Hassana Nurudeen and all Nigerians who fought for his release and whose constant interventions were instrumental in securing justice for the young lad.
He reassured that together, we will build a Nigeria where education, freedom, rule of law, equity and justice, care and protection of the less privileged in our midst will stand as the foundation of democracy.
