The unexpected visit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to former President Muhammadu Buhari and the injection of new energy into the coalition train has continued to rattle President Bola Tinubu who is considering taking some drastic measure including cabinet reshuffle, removing redundant Chief Executives of Agencies and change of guards in the party’s leadership to compensate the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc.
A source privy to the 2027 political permutations at the Presidential Villa confided to Pointblank new that the Presidency is losing sleep over the visit and the fact that Atiku and his host, drove to the Junmat mosque in the same car.
According to him, the Presidency is worried over the crack in the CPC block as former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and his CPC faction, appear antagonidtic to the re-election plan of Tinubu.
To find an immediate solution to the situation, Pointblank news was informed that the Presidency is considering a major cabinet overhaul, so that politicians that has electoral value, will be injected into the system. It was also learnt that the much awaited Ambassadorial list will also be reviews further so that all those who are aggrieved will be given some measure of compensation.
“Cabinet reshuffle of the Federal Executive Council is imminent with a view to injecting new blood, especially core politicians as well as containing some aggrieved CPC members from PMB’s camp in order to stop their clandestine move to join the Atiku coalition train. Those tipped to be appointed are core politicians or Nigerians with electoral values who may attract victory to the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.
“In order to pacify the CPC Bloc in the APC, the Former Governor of Nasarawa State who was the first and the last CPC Governor in Nigeria (Senator Tanko Almakura) is being pencilled to replace the current National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as National Chairman of APC. He is expected to discourage the aggrieved members of the CPC bloc from their plan to join the Atiku Coalition”.
He further noted that the long ambassadorial list will also be tweaked to accommodate more interest.
“The yet-to-be announced list of ambassadorial appointments will be revisited and reviewed to accommodate more aggrieved members of the CPC and some core politicians.
“More potential ambassadorial nominees may be appointed ministers in the new twist barring last minute changes”.
He revealed that some Chiefs Executives of government agencies and parastatals without electoral value will be kicked out.
“Some CEOs of MDAs who are seeing as liabilities to the the administration with no electoral value to the victory of President Bola Tinubu come 2027 may be sacked regardless of whether their tenure of office is still running.
“This is to address the salient criticisms and reservations raised by Nigerians in recent time”.
This medium also gathered that part of the plan is to intensify lobby to bring back the leader of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso and resolve the feud in the Kano emir tussle in favour of Lamido Sanusi who has the backing of the Governor Abba Yusuf who has the capacity to speak to Kano residence in a language that will make them buy into the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“In the meantime, at the high level political machination, President Tinubu has directed some strategic elites in the APC to woo former Kano State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to join the APC ahead of the 2027 intrigues.
“Kwankwaso is expected to nominate some would-be ministers and CEOs of MDAs and Ambassadors for appointment by the Federal Government as part of the carrots offered to him. Ultimately, Kwankwaso may eventually replace Vice President Kashim Shettima during the Presidential primaries next year in a bid to woo his occult-like followers to support the Tinubu’s bid come 2027 thereby neutralizing the Atiku /CPC coalition threat.
“The tussle of the Kano Emirate is being considered for resolution and Sanusi will be favoured while Aminu Ado Bayero may be advised to resign the Emirship and all court cases withdrawn. He is billed to be appointed an ambassador to one of the Middle East Countries (Qatar, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia )”.
However, the source reported from an unconfirmed source that that the coalition team are also ahead as they held several meetings with some retired generals from the North whom they believe has the capacity to bring Tinubu’s regime to a halt.
“An unconfirmed sources reveal that there was a nocturnal meeting amongst the retired Military rulers of Nigeria (OBJ, IBB, TY, AAA & GUSAU) on Saturday 12th April 2025 to review the socio-economic and political situation in the country.
