IPPIS is a centralized payroll platform designed by the Federal Government to automate salary payments, reduce waste, and eliminate ghost workers in the public service. It ensures that government personnel costs are efficiently managed through a direct, transparent system.
The highest remitter was the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, which paid N431.57bn. This was followed by Police Formations and Commands with N80.65bn, and the Nigerian Army with N61.19bn.
Other MDAs and their respective remittances include the Nigerian Navy (N13.63bn), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (N13.60bn), Nigerian Airforce (N10.62bn), Nigeria Immigration Service (N9.73bn), and Nigeria Correctional Service (N9.23bn).
Also featured in the data are the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (N5.50bn), Federal Road Safety Commission (N4.89bn), and the National Space Research and Development Agency (N2.91bn).
Teaching and medical institutions were also listed among the top remitters: University College Hospital, Ibadan paid N2.32bn, Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki paid N2.32bn, and Federal Medical Centre, Nasarawa State paid N2.27bn.
These remittances were primarily tagged as November 2024 salary payments, reflecting continued adherence to the IPPIS system for disbursing federal wages and upholding payroll transparency.
