Today in Ikenne, Ogun state, the Nigeria Premier league (NPFL) will formerly crown Remo Stars FC, the champions of the 2024/2025 Season.
The Kunle Soname’s boys grabbed this historic milestone following a narrow 2-1 defeat over Niger Tornadoes to secure the season’s title with three games to spare thereby marking a new chapter in Nigerian football.
Recall  that this is the very first time a privately owned  side is achieving such a milestone in over a decade.
NPFL has directed a simultaneous kickoff time of 3.pm for all match day 33 fixtures on this day Sunday.
As disclosed by Damilola Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, the directive is in sink with the policy of always maintaining fairness to all featuring clubs.
“Earlier, we directed that for the Trophy’s presentation ceremony at Ikenne, the fixtures should kick off at 3.pm for safety reasons.
“After more extensive assessment of all the features which impact the outcome of the continental slot and relegation survival, we resolved to set the kick off time for all” Owumi clarified.
Fixtures of match day 37 will be played on Sunday, May 11 at all centers with crown champions Remo Stars hosting top three chasing Ikorodu City.
In the heart of that Continental race, two ambitious dark horses-Abia Warriors and Ikorodu City are penning down new chapters in their respective clubs’ histories. It’s indeed a big day for the people of Ogun state. From PBN, it’s  Congratulations to Remo FC.
