Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Faith Adewale, has opened up about the extreme lengths he went to in order to secure a spot in the reality show, revealing that he took a ₦5 million loan to make his BBNaija dream come true.
Faith, who was disqualified from the show earlier in the season for physical assault, shared his story in a recent video on his Instagram page, where he reflected on his journey, struggles, and lessons learned from the experience.
According to him, the decision to audition for BBNaija came at a time when he felt lost and frustrated about his career path after returning to Nigeria late last year.
“On March 5, 2025, I received a text message with a link that flipped my world upside down,” he recalled.
“By December 24, 2024, I had returned to Nigeria feeling frustrated about my options as a doctor. Then I decided to take a chance,” he said.
Faith revealed that he had to take a ₦5 million loan to pursue the opportunity, describing it as one of the most daring things he had ever done.
“I did the unthinkable to get into the Big Brother house,” he said. “It was a huge risk, but I felt I had to give myself that one shot.”
Reflecting on his time in the house, Faith admitted that his experience was far from perfect.
“I made mistakes, failed tasks, got into arguments, broke things, said things I shouldn’t have, and lost friends,” he said.
“At some point, I asked for a therapist more than three times. It was overwhelming.”
He also spoke about the emotional toll the show took on him, symbolically declaring, “Faith is dead,” to represent the personal transformation he has undergone since leaving the house.
Despite his disqualification, he expressed deep appreciation to fans across Africa who supported him throughout his time on the show.
“People I didn’t know stood by me, defended me, and voted for me. I’m grateful for that love,” he said.
Now outside the BBNaija house, the ex-housemate says he feels “invigorated” and ready to begin a new chapter, using the lessons from his journey to rebuild and move forward.
Faith’s revelation has sparked conversations online about the pressure and sacrifices reality show contestants make to chase fame, as many Nigerians expressed mixed feelings about his decision to go into debt for the competition.
Faith, a medical doctor by training, was one of the most talked-about housemates of the BBNaija “Rebirth” edition. Known for his strong personality and occasional outbursts, he was disqualified midway through the show following a physical altercation.
His story has since become a conversation starter about the emotional strain, financial risks, and intense expectations tied to the country’s biggest reality show.
