House Reverses Decision, to Reconvene Wednesday

The House of Representatives has reversed its earlier decision to suspend sittings for a week, announcing that it will now reconvene for plenary on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
This change of plan was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday evening by the House Spokesman, Akin Rotimi. According to the statement, the decision to resume earlier than scheduled was informed by encouraging progress made through consultations and interventions at various levels of government on the matters that led to the initial adjournment.
Recall that during Tuesday’s plenary, the House had resolved to adjourn for one week to allow further consultations and executive–legislative engagements over the delayed release of funds approved in the 2024/2025 budget, as well as concerns raised by contractors affected by the delay.
However, just hours after the adjournment, the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq., circulated a notice to members indicating that plenary would resume on Wednesday. He stated that the early reconvening would afford the House Leadership the opportunity to brief members on the progress made in addressing the issues and to deliberate on other urgent national matters.
At the resumed sitting, the House is expected to officially rescind its earlier resolution on adjournment and continue with legislative proceedings.
Members have been advised to make adequate arrangements to ensure their presence at the plenary.
