Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has accused former club SSC Napoli of treating him “like a dog,” as he broke his silence on the breakdown of his relationship with the Italian side after their historic Serie A title-winning season.
Reflecting on his time at the club.
Osimhen said: “I gave everything to Napoli. I played with pain, I fought for the badge, and I helped bring the Scudetto back after more than 30 years.”
He added that the situation later changed in ways he did not expect.
“After all I did for the club, I felt disrespected. There were things that happened that I didn’t deserve. At some point, I felt like they treated me like a dog.”
The prolific striker also addressed the social media controversy that further strained relations.
“When that video was posted, I was shocked. It wasn’t funny to me. It was a lack of respect,” he said, referring to a TikTok clip from Napoli’s official account that appeared to mock him over a missed penalty.
Although the video was eventually deleted, Osimhen suggested the damage lingered.
“You can delete a post, but you can’t delete how it made me feel,” he stated, noting that trust between him and certain figures at the club was affected.
His comments are likely to reignite conversations about professionalism and player welfare in elite football.
As of the time of filing this report, Napoli have not publicly responded to the striker’s remarks
