The People’s Republic of China has marked the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), with Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Nigeria.
In a statement commemorating the July 1 anniversary, Ambassador Yu described the CPC as the driving force behind China’s economic transformation and pledged continued support for Nigeria’s development priorities.
He noted that China and Nigeria have built a strong partnership over more than five decades of diplomatic relations, founded on mutual trust, political support and expanding economic cooperation.
“No matter how the international landscape evolves, the CPC and the Chinese Government have remained unwavering in their commitment to long-term friendship with Nigeria,” Yu said, adding that China would continue to support Nigeria in pursuing a modernization path suited to its national conditions and deepen practical cooperation that improves the lives of Nigerians.
The ambassador said both countries have consistently supported each other’s core interests through platforms such as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), while expanding exchanges on governance and aligning China’s development plans with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Looking ahead, he said China is ready to deepen strategic communication, strengthen political mutual trust and translate bilateral consensus into practical cooperation that delivers greater benefits for both countries.
Reflecting on the CPC’s 105-year journey, Yu credited the party’s leadership for China’s rapid development and social stability.
“History and reality have fully demonstrated that the leadership of the CPC is the fundamental reason for China’s success in revolution, development and reform,” he said.
He added that the CPC has pursued a development model based on self-reliance, people-centred governance, continuous reform and theoretical innovation, which he said has enabled China to achieve sustained economic growth, eliminate absolute poverty and become a major contributor to global development.
Yu also reaffirmed China’s commitment to promoting international cooperation through initiatives aimed at advancing global development, security and shared prosperity.
