Boko Haram: Borno Relaxes Curfew

Security forces in Borno State north eastern Nigeria have today relaxed the curfew hours from 7pm to 9pm daily in view of the Muslim Ramadan(Fasting) Period.

The state government had at the beginning of this year Imposed curfew from 6am to 7pm daily.

In a statement issued by the spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Lieutenant Colonel  Sagir Musa  the cufew hours now begin from 9pm to 6am”.

“In view Ramadan Fasting period,the JTF felt it is expedient to review the curfew timings imposed in some Local Government Areas of the state. Hence, the Task Force hereby informs the public that curfew is extended from 7pm to 9pm in the evening to 6am in the morning daily with effect from July 18. In effect, curfew is to be enforced between 9pm to 6 am daily,” Musa said.

The JTF also appealed to the  people to report suspicious movement and explosions in their communities to the JTF or other security agencies through the following hot lines: 08064174066; 07085464012; 08154429346.
