The Chibok Girls and Nigeria’s Moral Conscience

As a father, I am disgusted with this bucolic called Nigeria, the devil’s country. I speak here as a Biafran. Yes, I consider myself still a Biafran and make no apologies for that.  Nigeria has become so perinicious that it has no value for human life. Why? 220 innocent girls were abducted and are being raped several times a day and Nigeria sleeps as if nothing is happening. Has this country become so evil that they can allow 220 girls to be taken in the night and men of conscience are not raising hell at every corner of society? Where is the protest in social media like Facebook about this evil? Please your voice is important, get involved, write your congress, copy paste this article. Do something, anything, let’s bring the girls home.

Has the country called Nigeria lost her psyche? These young girls came to BornoState to take the West African Examination to open a door for their future to perhaps become doctors, lawyers, engineers, nurses and some senseless religious fanatics so called Boko Haram came in the middle of the night and stole them under the force of guns. As I write this, these girls are being ravished and beaten several times daily. The 53 girls who escaped have told sordid stories of man’s inhumanity to man. The girls are kept as sex slaves. Where is the moral conscience of this evil country called Nigeria? As this is going on, the so called President Goodluck Jonathan is going about smiling and travelling and conducting other affairs of the state as if the lives of these girls do no matter to him. I am very angry as a father and as a former journalist when I was in my twenties.  I am highly disturbed and ashamed that this is taking place. In most countries there would be such great outrage and people would be calling for the president to resign and the head of Nigerian security services to leave office.  Not in morally reprehensible Nigeria. The cult members are dancing with the devil while 220 innocent girls languish in the worst evil imaginable. Is not their daughters so who cares? Really? Bring the girls home.

I have several questions with regard to 220 innocent girls being turned into sex slaves by these religious fanatics. Why were the girls allowed to go into a state that is under a state of emergency to take WAEC exam when everyone knows that this area is an enclave for Boko Haram, the terrorists? How where these cowards able to load 220 girls into several trucks and no one saw anything? Why did the governor of the state not provide enough security for the girls? How can a country that almost exterminated my tribe the Ibos during the  Biafran war not be able to fight and confront a handful small thugs of terrorists? What are the names of these girls? Why has the names of their parents not been published for everyone to see? How can their so called country ignore their pain and suffering at the highest inhumane levels?  Are these girls being used for some rituals or so called voodoo? Why is it that only girls were kidnapped? BornoState is under heavy security due to the activities of the  Boko Haram? Are the girls in Borno state on in some forest near Cameroon border? The information I am getting is that the girls may be in Mali, Chad, or Cameroon and that these animals are threatening to sell them for $12 each and force them into marriages. Where are the idiotic Nigerian journalists who are supposed to be asking all these questions? They are busy trying to score brownie points with the politicians. Does Nigeria still have a military? Why have they not been deployed close to Cameroon border? Why are they not marching to Sambisi forest to rescue the girls? Are the army leaders who are Muslims also sympathetic to the terrorists? Why is it that all the girls kidnapped where only Christians? Where is the Christian Association of Nigerian who recently threatened to release the names of the girls? Are they searching for the girls at this moment? If there is a search going on, why are journalists not involved and why are we not getting any report on the efforts to rescue the girls? Are Nigerians humans or animals?  Why was Dame Patience Jonathan the wife of the president crying because the governor of Borno state’s wife did not attend her stupid meeting? Why is the husband playing politics with 220 missing girls? Does Nigerians still have a moral conscience?  If the president’s wife and other leaders are making idiotic statements with regard to this evil, where is our hope for rescuing these innocent girls? While this stupid drama was going on, the leader of the Boko Haram, the terroristic cowards released a video on YouTube threatening to sell the girls into slavery for $12 each. I guess the bubble burst on the so called leaders who were playing politics with the girls. Do you want to know why I love America? Few years back, a little American girl was accidentally trapped in a well and most of America could not sleep as efforts went on to rescue her. We have 220 girls being raped around the clock and the Nigerian president is smiling and going about like there is nothing unusual going on. President Jonathan what if this where your daughter, would you be smiling? Bring the girls home.

Finally on a positive note, today president Obama has offered to help. This offer was conveyed to President Jonathan by the United States Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry in a telephone conversation. The United States will deploy security personnel and assets to work with their Nigerian counterparts in the search and rescue. While we hope and pray for these girls, copy and spread this article in the social media so that these girls can come home to their families. I weep for Nigeria. Hail Biafra my beloved country. America should be cautious about sending help, these clowns cannot be trusted. There are several Boko Haram supporters within the administration. These Judas in the midst would not help the American efforts but will frustrate it. America please do your homework as I know you would. Hail to Biafra my beloved country. Bring the girls home.
