Grassroot Mobilizers for Goodluck Jonathan has thrown it’s support on the
aspiration of an Urhobo born veteran journalist and erstwhile Aso Rock
Villa Vanguard Newspaper News Editor, Comr. Daniel. Ovwigho Idonor
even as he has expressed his intent to run for the Ughelli/Udu Federal
Constituency in 2015.The group which paid him a solidarity visit Friday,
July 25 at his Ughelli Country Home, Delta State held that their position
was hinged on the aspirant antecedents and score card.Addressing the
multitude of supporters that graced the visit, leader of the group,
Nathaniel Okhoror, noted that, with Comr. Idonor’s level of experience
and connection having been in the office of the president as a foremost
journalist with the incumbent president and the two immediate past ones,
he was better well placed to represent the constituents than any other
contestant jostling for the seat.
The mobilizer emphasized that the representing of the Urhobo nation at a
critical democratic time as this requires persons with the clout,
recognition and enigma to deliver and not naives who need to be shown
the rudiments of legislation.The group pointed out further that, with the
wealth of experience of the aspirant as someone in the fourth estate of
the realm who has practiced in the highest executive seat and office of
the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he would be able to
deploy his vast knowledge to represent his constituent effectively with
the overall legislative input capable of redefining the social, economic
and political landscape of the entire nation.More also, the group which
describes the aspirant as a bridge builder said they saw in him the
ability to form quality representation, reliable leadership, effective
democracy divided delivery andstewardship accountability for the
people.This according to them has been expressed in the action of the
aspirant, in that, despite his busy schedule in the State House, Abuja, he
still created the time to pay regular visit home, access the grassroot
people’s situation and device ways to service their needs through
philanthropic gestures and various empowerment programmes.“It is
therefore our believe that, with all this qualities, it isobvious that if
our brother, our leader and mentor if given themandate to represent us, he
will be able to attract the neededdevelopment to us.“Based on these and
other reasons, we therefore make it public that we here by endorse the
Comr Daniel Idonor for the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency
representation.Reacting to the endorsement, Comr Idonor promised to give
the people quality representation and making the dividends of democracy
get to grassroots.
