Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Friday announced the appointment of Malam Imam Imam as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs.
The announcement is contained in a statement personally signed by Tambuwal and issued in Sokoto.
Imam was Tambuwal’s media adviser when he was the Speaker, House of Representatives, until a few days ago.
In the statement, Tambuwal admonished Imam to rededicate himself to his new assignment by contributing positively to information management in the state.
Imam, a former Group Politics Editor at THISDAY Newspapers, was born on July 16, 1977 in Gboko, Benue, but hails from Taraba.
He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communications from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna and a Post Graduate diploma in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano.
Imam is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
