New NSA Disclaims Reports of Ramadan Timeline to End Bombing …Tours Borno, Yobe, Others

by Our Reporter

Newly appointed National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, has reportedly dismissed as untrue, reports that made way into the media last night that he has placed a timeline to end Boko Haram bombings and shootings before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

Top-level security sources stated today that the NSA never set such a timeline, but instead is determined to work with various groups and individuals to end the bombing campaigns, which have virtually brought activities in Northern Nigeria to a disastrous halt.

Usually credible sources stated that Dasuki, who is touring the crisis areas of Borno and Yobe, has opened discussions with different groups all with the aim of bringing the security situation under control. The scion of the Sokoto Caliphate is said to enjoy the widespread approval of Northern youths and elders alike, who are reportedly determined to ensure that he succeeds in his current assignment.

The sources said that the reports on the Ramadan time line were diversionary and could only short circuit the process of achieving peace in the north.
