Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading airline and the largest carrier in West and Central Africa, has announced the full resumption of its flight operations starting Friday, April 25, 2025.
This follows the suspension of the industrial action by workers of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) and other aviation labour unions.
Recall that the airline had on Wednesday, April 24, 2025, suspended flight operations due to the unavailability of QNH (pressure altitude) reports, a critical meteorological input required for safe aircraft landings, amid the NiMET-led strike.
“Our passengers’ safety remains our utmost priority. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide timely updates,” the airline stated in its earlier announcement.
In a follow-up statement issued on Thursday, Air Peace expressed profound gratitude to its customers for their patience, understanding, and continued patronage during the disruption.
“We sincerely thank our esteemed passengers for their resilience and unwavering trust in the Air Peace brand during this difficult period,” said Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace.
The airline also lauded the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for his decisive intervention in resolving the impasse and restoring normalcy in the aviation sector.
“Honourable Keyamo’s prompt and transparent engagement with stakeholders, coupled with his firm commitment to sectoral stability, has once again demonstrated his deep understanding of aviation’s pivotal role in national development,” the statement noted, adding that “His leadership was instrumental in the swift resolution of the strike and reinforces his broader vision for a safer, more efficient, and investor-friendly aviation industry.”
Air Peace further urged customers with inquiries, reservation issues, or rescheduling needs to contact its customer service team via email at callcenter@flyairpeace.com or by calling +234-201-343-8133.
The airline reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and world-class air travel services across its domestic and international routes, pledging to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.
