It was gathered that the hoodlums freed detainees and set fire which affected some parts of the main building of the station.
They also burnt exhibit motorcycles at the station. However, no life was lost while it could not be confirmed if arms and ammunition were stolen by the hoodlums.
Spokesman of the Abia State Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, a Superintendent of Police, could not be reached as at press time. However, a senior police officer in the State who spoke under anonymity confirmed the incident and added that investigation is ongoing.
